This is a picture that was taken during approximately 1.5 hours on Mauna Kea, Big Island, Hawaii. In the foreground, you can see the Canada France Hawaii Telescope. On Mauna Kea, nights are amazingly clear and dark. The picture consists of 22 single frames, each taken at f/4, ISO 100, 16 mm and exposure time of a little more than 4 minutes, which makes it a total 90 minutes exposure. I stitched the pictures in Photoshop to create this image.

My friends stood almost perfectly still for this 30 seconds exposure, while I tried to light up the rocks with some flashlights. This was not that easy, because right in front of them, huge waves came in and it was quite scary to stand up there ;-)
This was taken during last week's Perseid meteor shower. I was lucky to catch one of the brightest meteors. You couldn't see that many because of the clouds and the full moon, but this added some nice details to the pictures.
